Additional notes for techies and those who might care:
Boogie #3
This tune was recorded, and mixed with Cubase SX 1.03 and mastered with Wavelab on a PC . No outboard gear other than two guitars and a bass were used. Played by little old me. An exercise in spontaneity, all tracks (except the two rhythm guitars) were played completely through on first or second take (with a few punch-in corrections to fix a few mistakes and "dead ends"). After the tracking, the tune never left the computer. I didn't intend this tune to become a telecaster tribute but the tele sounded so good that I used it for all but the rhythm guitars.
Isle Mysterioso
I used Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0 with external midi drum machine (Boss DR-660, a mixing desk with outboard gear and an ART SGX2000 Express guitar pre-amp for guitar sounds. I played the heavy tom and snare fills with sticks on drum pads.
The Commander
I used Cubase VST32 with outboard midi drums. When it was time to mix, I printed the drums to Cubase audio tracks and applied my affects in Cubase. Mixdown was via "mix to file." The drum machine was an Alesis DMPro. This drum box has the best sounding drums I've used software or hardware. I don't use outboard gear anymore but I still haven't been able to bring myself to part with it.
